Give the Gift of Hope This Holiday Season
Everyone deserves a safe place to spend the night. This year, UMOM New Day Centers has continued to work towards our mission of ending homelessness by restoring hope and rebuilding lives, so no child will ever have to sleep on the streets.
UMOM is ending family homelessness by restoring hope and rebuilding lives.
Melissa and her family first came to UMOM in 2020. After a short stay, they were able to exit to housing, but a family crisis brought them back to UMOM soon after. When she returned to UMOM, Melissa immediately knew she wanted to join the Homegrown culinary training program. Melissa suffered from a fractured ankle halfway through the program, but UMOM case managers and employees pushed her not to give up, and she was able to graduate the Homegrown program with the rest of her class.
"UMOM shelters, to me, saved me and my family."
When Jessica came to UMOM in 2017, she also started as a student in the Homegrown culinary training program. After graduation, Jess got a job at UMOM's Helpings Café, and today, Chef Jessica is the Residential Dining Manager at UMOM New Day Centers.
